Upload without renaming
Drop an image onto the intended cell or choose its upload button. Uppercase A is exported as images/uppercase/A.jpg with Export background ON, or A.png with it OFF; lowercase uses its own folder. Your original file is never changed.
Bulk import
Add named images and Open named folder recognize files that already use the table’s target names. Folder paths remove ambiguity between uppercase and lowercase files.
Review and adjust
Open any loaded glyph with its full-screen review button. Nudge, scale, rotate, crop, pad or snap the image without changing the source file. Reset scale to 100% at any time, and use the independent Show guides toggle while inspecting. Compare up to three glyphs or temporary revision files side-by-side, split-screen or by blinking, and use Overlay for opacity-controlled superimposition.
Reference cells
Click a loaded image away from its action buttons to mark or unmark it as a reference. Change the badge wording in the Reference label field.
Test different backgrounds
Use the Background color picker or its matching hex field to preview transparent PNG glyphs against any color. Opaque images are unaffected. In export settings, Export background bakes that display color into JPGs when ON; turn it OFF to preserve transparency in PNGs.
Download and reopen
Download PDF creates a client-ready landscape presentation containing every loaded glyph, the current background, visible guides, labels and reference badges. Download set ZIP creates consistently named JPG or transparent PNG files, a README, glyph-balance-project.json, and a project-sources folder preserving the original uploads. Reopening that ZIP restores editable adjustments without baking them in twice.
Black or corrupted exports in Firefox
Firefox privacy protection or a canvas-blocking extension can prevent image extraction. Glyph Balance Table checks for this before exporting and explains how to allow Extract Canvas Data for the app.
Privacy
Images are processed locally and stored in your browser’s private IndexedDB storage. Nothing is uploaded to Green Macaroni or any other server.
Supported images
PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and BMP files are accepted when the browser can decode them. Square source images provide the most predictable comparisons.
